Dr. Qureshi

Jawad Qureshi, MD founded RCT in January 2011.  Dr. Qureshi is a board certified, fellowship trained retina specialist committed to providing compassionate care to individuals suffering from retinal disease.  He is highly skilled at performing the latest surgical techniques for repair of retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes (macular puckers), macular holes, vitreous hemorrhages, and other vitreo-retinal disorders.  Dr. Qureshi also specializes in the medical treatment of age related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions, uveitis, and all other medical diseases of the retina.

Dr. Qureshi grew up in Denton, Texas, where his father is an interventional cardiologist.  He graduated from Duke University Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelors of Science.  Following this, he completed both medical school and business school at Duke University.  After medical school, Dr. Qureshi began a rewarding path to help improve patients’ lives by improving their sight.  He completed his ophthalmology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he developed a foundation for excellence in eye care.  He then completed a surgical retina fellowship at Duke University, widely recognized as the birthplace of modern day retina surgery.  While a fellow at Duke, he was awarded the Hornaday Fellow Award as the top fellow at Duke Eye Center (an award given for excellence in clinical care, ethics, and research), and the prestigious Heed Fellowship Award.  In 2008, Dr. Qureshi moved back home to Texas and began private practice in Grapevine.  Dr. Qureshi has contributed to the field by co-authoring several journal articles and presenting at national meetings.  He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Association, and American Society of Retina Specialists.

On a personal note, Dr. Qureshi is happily married and has been blessed with three beautiful children.  He met his wife, also an ophthalmologist, while in training at Johns Hopkins Hospital.  He enjoys gardening, photography, basketball and spending time with his children.

Dr. Qureshi has also played a major role in the development of Park Hill Surgery Center, a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center serving Tarrant county.  He has served as the Board Chairman of Park Hill Surgery Center since its inception.

Dr. Qureshi is available for appointments in our Grapevine, Fort Worth and Plano locations.
